Create MORE Content In LESS Time

If you’re looking for a couple of quick content writing tips to save time, you’re in the right place.

Rather listen than read? Here you go:

And before I do, let me just tell you, this is something that I wondered about for years. I saw guys like Dan Kennedy other guys like that and how much content they could produce so quickly…

So I think I’ve finally “cracked the code”. In this post, I’ll show you how it works so you and/or your team can spin out more content in less time.

Step 1

This first step is simple. If you’ve got to create content for your marketing, and you don’t have writers on your team who can do it for you, what you do is just one thing: Make sure you write every day.

Pure simplicity.

Not easy at first maybe, but simple, right?

It’s just like learning to play the guitar, run a marathon, speak a new language…

It’s a lot easier when you’re in shape.

Give yourself five minutes, lock yourself in. Don’t let anything distract you. Give yourself five minutes, 15 minutes, an hour, whatever you can squeeze into your insanely busy day, which I’m sure you have if your life is anything like mine.

Just do that on a daily basis.

I like doing it first thing in the morning. My mind is fresh. And for some reason creative ideas just seem to flow easier then.

So that’s the secret behind door number one. Still with me?

Step 2

Speed secret numero dos is, if you’ve got something specific that you need to get out the door, get it written, get it roughed out on day one. Then sleep on it. Then on day two come back, look at it again with “fresh eyes”. You’ll have a completely different perspective.

To give you an example of how this works, here’s what happened to me recently.

I had a a request to pitch an all-day content marketing intensive for a local venue here in Boulder. So of course I waited until the last minute.

So after stewing on it for a week, I just blasted the whole thing all out in one evening. It all came out really fast — my fingers just had to keep up with the idea flow. But it wouldn’t have been so easy if I hadn’t been stewing on it. AND, if I hadn’t be writing every day. That’s the trick.

So step two was, first thing the next morning, I got up, looked at what was there and had a completely different take on it. Rewrote it lightning fast and I think it came out pretty good. We’ll see what the result is, whether it gets accepted or not, etc. And if it doesn’t on that particular venue, there’ll be others.

So there you go. Want to get a lot of content out the door real fast? Try using that two-step process.

Number one, write every day.

Number two, rough it out then sleep on it and tweak it the next day.

If you follow that process, I’d be willing to bet you’ll have some great insights and be able to get your content out fast.
