3 Tips to Help You Break the Content Marketing Time Barrier

Want to get your web content “out the door” in half the time so you can catch your kid’s next soccer game, birthday party or concert without fail?

Nowadays pretty much every business owner and marketing manager needs to churn out a constant stream of quality content just to get the business noticed online. Yet nobody seems to have the time to get it all done.

It’s taken me years of banging my head into nearly every wall – at least once – to figure this out.  But you don’t have to go through all that.

These days, when clients, partners and “inner circle” members ask me how to get more high caliber content published in less time, here’s what I prescribe:

1. Create a web content calendar for the next 12 months (You don’t have to wait ‘til next January; You can start today.)

2. Keep your web page, blog post, article or press release simple and use templates and shortcuts whenever you can.  Remember, your reader/listener/viewer only wants a solution to one problem at a time; You don’t have to heave them a whole encyclopedia when just a 1-2-3 step formula will do.

3. Write fast, let it sit then edit later.  Tell your inner critic to go take a hike or go out for a cup of coffee while you bang out your piece of content.  She (or he) will be back soon enough and then you’ll have something for him or her to edit.

Web content management doesn’t have to be tedious or take a long time.  In fact, when you get into the flow, it can be a lot of fun – and profitable!)
